Rolling Stone Australia reports that Metallica’s 2025 Australian tour will include at least one show in Perth, Rolling Stone AU/NZ reports.

When Bay Area metal legends head south on their trek down the M72, well-placed sources tell RS there will be a concert at Optus Stadium on Saturday, November 1st. A turn to the east coast will follow.

This is a huge coup for Western Australia and its capital, which so often misses out on major international exhibitions due to the cost and time involved in transporting equipment across this vast country.

Metallica recently announced a North American tour in 2025.

“We’re kicking off the third year of M72 with 21 shows in North America in April, May and June of next year,” the band said. “This leg will take place in 14 cities, across 18 shows, plus two festival stops, seven non-repeat weekends and seven one-night-only stops.

“We continue the M72 tradition of unique support acts—a mix of Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendency and Ice Nine Kills—and setlists for each No Repeat Weekend show. Snake Pit will remain center stage throughout the concert. all at round (non-festival) stops. And we’ll be sure to plan plenty of extracurricular activities to keep the Metallica family busy during the concerts.

“Extended amenities ranging from access to meet and greet, production and stage tour, food and drinks in the Black Box venue, to early entry into the venue and the aforementioned Snake Pit will be available.
