A 21-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly attacking a two-year-old girl at a Perth shopping centre.

Pamila-Rae Jetta, from Ellenbrook, who has a strong build and a shaved head, was taken into custody today after a police search.

“A 21-year-old Ellenbrook woman has been charged with one count of aggravated assault causing bodily harm,” police said in a statement.

The random attack happened at the Park Center on the Albany Highway in East Victoria Park in Perth’s southeast around 1.25pm ​​on Tuesday.

Footage from the scene shows a woman approaching the baby, who is being held in the arms of his mother.

Seconds later. she reached out and attacked the little girl before her mother quickly moved back.

The woman then fled the scene and was not known to either the mother or the child.

WA Premier Roger Cook said he was glad an arrest had been made following the horrific incident.

The incident follows yet another shocking attack on an innocent child.

In August, nine-month-old baby Luca was shot and killed by a stranger while on a picnic with his mother in a Brisbane park.
