MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — This week, NBC 15 News will meet with two candidates vying for the House seat in Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District.

On Tuesday we will meet with Democratic Party candidate Shomari Figures.

He was born and raised in Mobile.

The figures worked in the Obama administration as internal director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel Management.

He also spoke at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

We’ll be talking with Republican candidate Carolyn Dobson on Wednesday.

Dobson worked for the Alabama Forestry Commission, the Southeastern Livestock Exposition and the Birmingham chapter of the Federalist Society.
