Kiwi Supercars legend Greg Murphy will add the role of VAILO Adelaide 500 ‘Fanbassador’ to his resume in 2024.

Murphy joins the likes of Scott McLaughlin and Craig Lowndes in a role unique to the South Australian Supercars street finale.

The four-time Bathurst 1000 winner will promote the iconic event as well as provide expert analysis at the end of each day on the event’s social media channels, as well as participate in Q&A sessions and activities throughout the weekend.

Murphy has never won on the streets of Adelaide but has finished second three times, including the first two-match race in 1999.

“I look forward to being part of the 25th anniversary celebration of this iconic and beloved event,” he said.

“I was lucky enough to compete in my first competition in 1999 and it remains one of my most memorable podium experiences thanks to the amazing atmosphere created by the incredibly enthusiastic fans.

“The current Repco Supercars Championship in 2024 has been an exciting development and with him top of the driver standings, the deciding factor is likely to be on the streets of Adelaide.

“Supercar fans are so passionate that I’m looking forward to joining them in bringing all the fun we can, both on and off the road.”

The 2024 VAILO Adelaide 500 will conclude the Supercars season on November 14-17.
