Fairfield Union boys and girls win SE district titles

Fairfield Union: The Falcons dominated Saturday to capture the Division II Southeast District title. Fairfield Union won the 24-team tournament, beating the second-place team by 71 points.

All seven Fairfield Union runners earned first-team all-district honors. The Falcons were led by Andrew Walton, who finished first overall in 15:44.13. He was followed by Christian Reindl (2nd15:59.92), Nathan Phillips (5th16:23.29), Connor Runkle (6th16:28.02), Cordel Runkle (9th16:44.03), Ryan Boyer (11th16:46.54) and Andrew Ray (12th16:58.63).

The Lady Falcons also finished in first place and won the district championship. Four runners earned all-district honors. The Falcons were led by Vera Henderley (7th20:13.11), Adeline Winters (8th20:14.83), Claire Wilkinson (23district21:07.19), Abigail Pike (27th21:13. 49) and Ellen Morgan (40)th22:11.37).

The Falcons will compete in the Division II regional on Saturday at Pickerington North High School.

Freedom Union: The Lions competed in the Central District Division III championship in Hilliard Darby.

The girls team finished sixth in Section 2 DIII. They were led by individual regional qualifier and all-district runner Rachel Sponseller (9th, 20:53). She was followed by Taylor Jones (19th, 21:52), Caroline Endsley (32nd, 22:39), Elizabeth Conn (35th, 22:56), Emma Huntwork (54th, 24:40) , Kathleen Slaby (58th, 25th). :52) and Hennali Hanes (59th, 26:32).

The boys team also finished sixth in Section 2 D-III, led by individual regional qualifier and all-district runner William McCreery (7th, 16:50). Fisher Catholic: The Irish finished third at the Central District Division 3 meet in Darby on Saturday and qualified as a team for the regional meet on Saturday in Pickerington North.

Leading the way for the Irish was the junior trio of Roman Funk, Landen Funk and Reece Hagy, who ran consecutive times of 16:30.7-3, 17:25.7-11, 17:27.4-15. Sophomore Nicholas Risto placed 45th in 19:07.9-Pr and freshman Corbin Stobert placed 62nd in 20:44.9.

The Irish girls were led by the sophomore duo of Marygrace Crabtree and Eva Ovoforvaray, who ran consecutive times of 21:14.5-13th and 21:48.7-18th. Ellie Crile placed 38th in 23:06.2, and senior duo Maggie Murphy and Abigail Crabtree finished their high school careers with back-to-back runs of 23:10.5-41 and 23:22.3-44.
