The decision taken after the German Grand Prix brought new points to Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Williams’ Robert Kubica.

The points for the power champion and the Pole were scored thanks to sanctions against the Alfa Romeo team drivers.

Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi were given a 30-second penalty for breaking the rules after they failed to comply with some safety rules after the rain began to fall.

Räikkönen finished seventh and Giovinazzi eighth, but dropped to 12th and 13th places due to the penalty.

The Briton took ninth place instead of 11th and thus received two points, while Robert took tenth place and received one point.

Otherwise, Hamilton leads the drivers’ standings, as does Mercedes in the constructors’ standings. /Telegraph/
