Glenna Jesseff

Glenna Lou Jesseff, 89, was born June 19, 1935 in Burns, Kansas and died October 21, 2024 in Bowie, Texas. Glenna, a thoughtful, talented, dedicated and dependable woman, left her mark on every life she touched.

Glenna worked in the aviation industry and retired from Cessna Aircraft in 2000 after a nearly 20-year career. Despite her professional success, Glenna’s true joy lay in her hobbies and family. Her love of sewing, quilting and collecting dolls brought her great happiness, as did baking the famous cinnamon rolls that were a staple at family gatherings.

Her love of gardening was evident in her beloved heirloom peonies, which she transplanted into her children’s gardens. Glenna was an avid traveler, traveling by bus throughout the United States and visiting Europe to see her family’s homeland of Germany. Her playful spirit was evident in her love of playing Mexican dominoes and playing on the field, although she was not particularly good at either. Faith was the cornerstone of Glenna’s life, and she developed her love for others through faithful attendance and service to Plains Church of Argonia.
Glenna was a wonderful woman whose greatest joy was staying connected to her family and friends. Over the years, she has made it a priority to attend her children’s and grandchildren’s events and to stay in touch with colleagues and classmates. Over the years, she looked forward to gatherings at Burns High School where she could connect with those who held a special place in her heart. Although she and her ex-husband Charles Jesseph separated, Glenna always appreciated the love and kindness Jesseph’s family showed her over the years. After her health began to decline, she moved to Texas 8 years ago where she was able to enjoy precious moments and memories with her Texas family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Althea Hermann; sister Rose Mary Millican and her husband Ozzie, and her ex-husband Charles Jesseff.

Glenna is survived by her son, Keith Jessef of Sunset, Texas; daughter Linda Anderson and husband Michael of Sunset, Texas; son Larry Jessef and wife Sharon of Bartlesville, Okla.; son Mark Jesseff and wife Michelle of Goddard, Kansas; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; along with nieces, nephews and their families.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Her family will be present to receive friends at this time.

Glenna’s funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Plains Church, 102 North Argonia Road, Argonia, Kansas. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery, Milan, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Argonia Fire Department, PO Box 35, Argonis, KS 67004 or to the Plains Church Youth Ministry, 102 North Argonia Road, Argonis, KS 67004. Contributions may be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home.
