Another driver in Ezra Mam’s car crash drug scandal breaks his silence as shocking new image of the aftermath comes to light

The Uber driver who collided with Brisbane Broncos star Ezra Mam’s car has recalled the chaotic moment he pulled his four-year-old passenger to safety.

Marcel van den Camp stated that he “lost consciousness for a while” and admitted that he would “need some help to overcome mental obstacles” after being behind the wheel at the time of the incident.

The mother, who was also in the car at the time, said her young daughter suffered a broken hip as a result of the collision, and they both also suffered burns from their seat belts.

Van Den Camp revealed that he too suffered severe bruising to his chest after the collision, showing off the painful-looking injury on Tuesday.

The mum’s Ford Ranger and the Toyota carrying Van Den Camp, the woman and her child collided head-on in the north Brisbane suburb of Bardon on Friday.

The woman said that after the incident she and her daughter were hospitalized.

Queensland Police conducted a roadside drug and alcohol test at the scene: Mam allegedly failed a drug test but tested negative for alcohol.

No charges were filed in connection with the crash.

Van Den Camp has spoken out about the painful injury he suffered in last Friday’s accident.

“In the blink of an eye, we were hit by a truck. It was a terrible accident and I lost consciousness for a while,” Van Den Camp told Nine News.

“The woman was saying, ‘I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe,’ and I thought, ‘Oh my God, I need to do something.’

“I tried the back doors but couldn’t open them, they were locked, so I went back to my door, reached to my side of the back door and unlocked it.

“So I pulled the girl out and they were pretty shocked, to say the least.”

The girl’s mother called the driver a “hero” but he said: “I guess it was something I just had to do.” I couldn’t leave them in the car.”

Mame’s agents said the 21-year-old Brisbane star had checked into rehab for “immediate professional treatment”.

Meanwhile Van Den Camp said he had heard nothing from the NRL club since the accident, adding his car was damaged beyond repair.

“I haven’t heard anything, nothing from the Brisbane Broncos,” he said.

“I’m going to need help to get over the mental blocks I’m experiencing and a bit of anxiety when I’m sitting in the car.”

On Tuesday, the mother of a child riding in the back seat of an Uber spoke out about the injuries she and her daughter suffered.

“She (her daughter) has a fractured hip… she has very serious burns from the friction of the seat belt,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“I also remember saying, ‘I need to get out, I can’t breathe.’ The Uber driver jumped out of the car… to let us out… the door was jammed and wouldn’t open.”

Mam’s management released a statement Monday saying the star needed “immediate professional treatment” at a rehab center.

“Ezra is extremely remorseful,” the statement said.
