Eastside Catholic 35

Seattle Prep 14

Eastside Catholic dominated against Seattle Prep, securing a 35-14 win, helped by strong play from running back Jeremy Burrows and a stifling defense. The game started with fireworks as Burrows returned the kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, giving the Crusaders a 7–0 lead. Burrows continued to shine later in the first quarter, adding an 11-yard rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 14-0. Seattle’s team struggled to find any offensive rhythm while Eastside Catholic’s ground game, led by Nick Jones and Burroughs, pushed the lead to 28-0 at halftime. Jones added his own 20-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter, followed by another short touchdown from Burrows before the half.

The Seattle team managed to break through in the third quarter with a rushing touchdown, cutting the deficit to 28-7. However, Eastside Catholic responded quickly when fullback Isaac Corey connected with Nick Jones for a 5-yard touchdown pass to make it 35-7. Despite a late rally by Seattle Prep, who added a second rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to bring the final score to 35-14, Eastside Catholic’s early dominance proved insurmountable. The Crusaders’ balanced offensive attack and early defensive stops were key to their victory.

Ingram 28

West Seattle 13

Ingram earned a 28-13 victory over West Seattle in a game that featured strong rushing plays and key defensive stops. The game began with a back-and-forth exchange of passes as Ingram’s Jaelin Pugh intercepted a West Seattle pass early in the first quarter, but West Seattle recovered the ball shortly after. Ingram finally broke the deadlock late in the first quarter, with Jorge Avila scoring the game’s first touchdown on a 4-yard run to give the Rams a 7–0 lead. West Seattle responded in the second quarter with a pass from Desmond Parkinson to Miles Mutchler to tie the game 7–7. However, Ingram retook the lead just before halftime and Avila added his second touchdown of the day to put the Rams up 14-7.

Ingram’s defense held strong in the second half, forcing West Seattle to turn the ball over on downs several times. Avila continued his dominant play with another 3-yard rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter to extend Ingram’s lead to 21–7. With just over a minute left, Harry Hayes sealed Ingram’s win with a 67-yard touchdown run to make it 28-7. West Seattle managed to score late on Sam Turner’s 98-yard kickoff return, but their two-point conversion attempt failed, leaving the final score at 28-13. Ingram’s rushing attack, led by Avila and Hayes, and timely defensive play proved to be too much for West Seattle to handle.

Lakeside 28

Franklin 6

Lakeside defeated Franklin 28-6 in a dominant performance, scoring 13 points in the second quarter and adding another 15 points in the fourth to seal the win. Despite Franklin’s solid efforts on both sides of the ball, they only managed to find the end zone once. Franklin senior running back Evonte Tucker led the team’s offense with 17 carries for 123 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown run for the Quakers’ only points. Tucker’s play helped the Quakers total 149 rushing yards as a team, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Lakeside’s balanced attack.

On defense, Franklin put up a strong fight, totaling 49 tackles, seven of which were for loss. Senior Emmett Ramambason-Hendren excelled, leading the team with 12 tackles, including two tackles for loss, while Mohamed Mady added six tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. Despite these efforts, Lakeside’s ability to capitalize on key opportunities in the second and fourth quarters proved too much for Franklin, resulting in a 28-6 loss.

Lincoln 43

Cleveland 0

Lincoln dominated Cleveland in a decisive 43-0 victory, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. Lincoln’s running game led the way, with Matheus Allen scoring two rushing touchdowns and Avery Jones, Montrezl Weaver and Ben Ward adding rushing touchdowns of their own. Lincoln’s play through the air also contributed, with Jacob Smith throwing a touchdown pass to Olaf Barradas as Lincoln improved to 4-2 in the Metro League (4-3 overall).

Cleveland struggled to contain Lincoln’s offense and was unable to find its footing against Lincoln’s strong defense. The game was one-sided from the start as Lincoln controlled the tempo and scoreboard throughout, resulting in a clean sheet win for them.

Roosevelt 42

Rainier Beach 7

Roosevelt’s Damari “Mar Mar” King had a dominant performance, scoring four first-half touchdowns in the Roughriders’ 42-7 team win over Rainier Beach in Metro League play. King wasted no time scoring his first touchdown just 40 seconds into the game, giving Roosevelt a 7-0 lead on Jason Page’s successful extra point. Roosevelt’s defense set the tone early, forcing Rainier Beach to punt on their first drive. King continued to shine, quickly moving the ball to the three-yard line and then scored a second touchdown to extend the lead to 14-0. JoJo Paaga’s interception on Rainier Beach’s next possession set up King’s third goal of the night, and although the extra point was blocked, the Roughriders extended their lead to 20-0 with six minutes remaining.

Roosevelt’s defense remained relentless throughout the first quarter, with Aisley Suapaya and Kash Lexing making key plays that helped keep the Vikings off balance. Lexing’s 15-yard pick-six gave Roosevelt a 28-0 lead, further dashing Rainier Beach’s hopes. While Rainier Beach managed to get on the board with a six-yard touchdown run by quarterback Micah Ealy-Menis just before halftime, Roosevelt quickly responded with King’s fourth touchdown of the night, giving the Roughriders a comfortable 35-7 halftime lead. Lexing added another score in the third quarter, and despite some defensive efforts from Rainier Beach, the Vikings were unable to close the gap. Roosevelt’s defense, led by King and Lexing, held strong in the second half to secure a dominant 42-7 victory.

Bishop Blanchet 34

Garfield 13

In an emotional senior night game at Garfield Memorial Stadium, the Bulldogs fell to the Bishop Blanchette Bears 34-13 in a close Metro League matchup. Garfield got off to a fast start, taking advantage of excellent field position following a punt return to the Blanchet 30-yard line. Quarterback Tariq Shabazz completed a 15-yard pass to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead on Ardon Liffman’s successful extra point. Both teams struggled offensively throughout the first quarter, with penalties and incomplete passes hampering the offense. The Bears missed a key scoring opportunity when their 40-yard field goal attempt failed and the Bulldogs maintained a slim 7–0 lead in the second quarter.

Blanche quickly tied the game early in the second quarter when Josh Polick broke through the Bulldogs’ defense for a 34-yard touchdown. Garfield quickly responded with a one-yard touchdown run by J’Andres Castillo, but the failed two-point conversion kept the score 13-7. Despite numerous defensive stops, including a fumble recovery by Zion Moimoi, Garfield missed an opportunity to extend the lead when Blanchet’s Calvin Hanson intercepted a pass in the end zone. In the third quarter, Blanchet’s Patrick Dewey put the Bears ahead 14-13 with a touchdown pass, and a string of penalties and Garfield errors kept Blanchet’s lead alive. The Bears closed out the game in the final minutes with another Paulik touchdown and a game-ending interception returned for a touchdown by Isaac Moore, giving Blanchet a 34-13 victory. Despite the loss, Garfield fought hard, showing resilience until the end, but the Bears’ strong defensive effort proved too much to overcome.
