Before opening day, Joe typed and mentioned that the Bucs offensive line would play much better on Thanksgiving Day than it did at the start of the season because it takes time for the line to get on the same page and be completely in sync.

Even Bucs left tackle Tristan Wirfs told Joe in training camp that it would take time for the line to get back on track. When you combine a new offensive system with a new offensive line coach and two new starters, it won’t happen overnight.

Last week, when the Bucs rushed for 277 yards, the line seemed to be turning the corner. It was a sign that everyone was keeping pace.

Joe spoke to left back Ben Bredeson last week and he didn’t mind.

“I think so,” Bredeson said of getting the offensive line in order. “I think we were able to get a lot of reps together during training camp and the first few games. Yeah, I felt like the cohesion (against the slippery Saints) went really well.

“We had great communication. We had good landings on our blocks. The young guys played hard. The backs hit the holes hard and made good shots.”

Bredeson liked 277 yards rushing.

“It was a great day at work for us,” Bredeson said. “These are the results you want on game day.”
