A self-proclaimed “rich kid of Instagram” who boasted his family were the “British Kardashians” has been accused of extreme porn and indecent images of children.

Jack Watkin rose to fame in 2016 after claiming to have a fleet of luxury cars worth £1.7 million, access to his father’s private jet and being chosen to appear on a TV show.

The 25-year-old claimed to own supercars including a Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Range Rover and shared posts from his life on social media.

Eight years later, Cheshire Police launched an appeal to try to find him, claiming he was wanted in connection with an alleged breach of bail conditions.

Police arrested him at Macclesfield train station and have since charged him with possession of extremist pornography.

He is also charged with nine counts of fraud by false representation, making indecent images of children and possession of indecent images of children.

Watkin appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, October 19, where he was remanded in custody.

He will next appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 18 November 2024.

Speaking about his lifestyle when he became famous, Watkin said: “I know my life is different from other teenagers because I’m very lucky.

“I don’t have to worry about work and I have unlimited funds.

“But my life is not easy. My father worked really hard to make sure I had all these good things.”

Watkin has previously boasted that he has access to a private jet.
