Big Ten running backs ranked by yards after Week 8

Even though the Iowa Hawkeyes lost to the Michigan State Spartans, Caleb Johnson had another great game with 98 yards and a touchdown. Johnson passed the 1,000-yard mark over the weekend and still leads the Big Ten with 1,035 yards. Johnson and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty are the only two players to cross that threshold this season.

Indiana’s Justice Ellison returned to the top 10 this week after an explosive performance against Nebraska, carrying the ball nine times for 105 yards and two touchdowns. The top performance of Week 8 was Tavi Walker, who rushed for 126 yards in the Badgers’ win over Northwestern. Over the past few weeks, the Wisconsin running back has found success and skyrocketed in the conference rankings.

The Big Ten’s rushing touchdown leader is Caleb Johnson, who has 13 this year. Rutgers’ Kyle Monangai is second with 10 touchdowns and Walker is third with nine.

Penn State’s Nicholas Singleton fell out of the top 10 after missing this week, but will try to get back into the top 10 against Wisconsin this Saturday.

Here’s a look at the Big Ten’s yardage leaders in Week 8. Also take a look at the Big Ten’s passing leaders.
