An over-50s resort is coming to the Fleurieu Peninsula following council approval. The resort will feature an extensive list of premier facilities and 315 homes on 15.5 hectares of Encounter Bay.

OceanView Lifestyle Resort will be a truly luxurious resort with indoor amenities including a heated swimming pool, gym, cinema, golf simulator, ten-pin bowling alley and relaxation lounge. The outdoors will feature even more: manicured bowling greens, bocce and pickleball courts, miniature golf, biking and walking paths, community gardens and a central park.

Having worked with Southern Lifestyle Villages Australia for over a decade, Gosia, design manager at Aspex Building Designers, explains that the project has been underway for several years.

“We are designers, so we work with the architectural part of the project and help design houses and premises. My client and I started this project about two years ago, if not more. Although we have been working with the client for over ten years, first at the Lakeside Lifestyle Resort in Goolwa,” shared Gosia.

In the new OceanView project, accessibility is an integral part of the design.

“Obviously, accessibility is an important part of the design and, given the age group, we consider this in all aspects of the design process. Luxury and comfortable living are very important,” Gosia said.

“There are common areas, a library, café and dining areas, a swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor sports areas. A lot has gone into the design of the indoor events. There will be pool tables and an indoor golf simulator, it will be very luxurious.”

Along with modern communal amenities, the houses have been designed with luxury in mind.

“Most, if not all, homes have a garage and space for golf carts. Everything was designed in such a way that if residents prefer not to bike or walk, they can take a golf buggy,” explains Gosia.

Homes will vary in size and price and can be tailored to suit the needs of residents.

Phase 1 homes are now available for purchase from $595,000 and are expected to be built and move-in ready by the end of 2025.
