Police have appealed to the public for information after a man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Auckland’s Pukekohe last week.

A member of the public discovered an injured and unconscious man lying in Wellington Street at around 2.47am on Friday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Taylor said the victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

“We are asking the public to provide any information that may help us locate the driver or vehicle.

“Anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed this incident or who has any information, including CCTV, is asked to contact police immediately.”

Taylor said it was likely the vehicle was damaged during the incident.

“If you are the owner of this vehicle, please contact us.

“Following this incident, a number of people have come forward with information and contacted police and we would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to us to please contact us.”
