The couple have since been released on bail, but police say they are continuing to investigate the death.

A police spokesman said: “Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that the four-month-old baby who sadly died in Clinderwen on October 18 was named Cali Creed Green.

“Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

“Two people – a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man – were arrested on suspicion of child neglect and have now been bailed pending further inquiries.

“His death is being treated as unexplained and the coroner has been advised.”

Following the incident, a Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call (October 18) shortly after 1.30pm to reports of an incident in Clanderwen.

“We sent two ambulances, one paramedic from Cymru Emergency Response, one duty operations manager and a response assistant from Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service.

“Extended critical care support was provided by the Emergency Medical Services and Transport Service via the Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter.”

It said people living in the Klinderveven area would see an “increased police presence in the coming days”.

Residents brought flowers and toys in memory of the little boy, with one resident saying “everyone is in shock.”

A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Pembrokeshire Herald: “It’s heartbreaking.

“Everyone here is in shock and our thoughts are with the child’s family.

“We hope the police can get to the bottom of what happened.”

The Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire Coroner has been informed but a date has not yet been set for the inquest into Cali’s death.
