Walking Football Gala Days will be held in Auckland and Tauranga in November.

Tauranga Blue Rovers will host a five-a-side walking football tournament on Friday 15 November 2024 at Moorland Fox Park, Greerton starting at 6pm.

Auckland club North Shore United will host their second football gala at Allen Hill Stadium on Saturday 16 November 2024.

This follows a successful gala walking football day held at the club at the end of September, when 46 players took part in a similar event.

Teams from Hibiscus Coast, East Coast Bays, North Shore United and Wax Eye Sports and Performing Arts Trust took part in the event.

North Shore won the tournament.

The November competition is suitable for men’s, women’s or mixed teams of up to 12 players, and organizers say the games are suitable for teams of all levels.

Teams can be made up of clubs, businesses, families, groups of friends, disability groups or people with other social connections, including walking groups or retirement villages.
