San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters on a conference call Monday, a day after the team’s 28-18 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s all he said.

“Okay guys, injuries sustained in the game: (WR) Chris Conley sprained ankle, will be day-to-day, (TE) George Kittle, sprained foot, day-to-day, (WR) Deebo Samuel ( Sr.), he had some weird illness, some fluid in his lungs, so technically it’s pneumonia, and they confirm that (WR) Brandon Aiyuk did tear his ACL, so obviously he’s out for the game . Go ahead, continue.”

Do you have a timeline for Deebo Samuel?

“No. We’ll see how he is, he’s still in the hospital and we’ll see how he recovers here over the next few days.”

Does Brandon have any other ligament injuries that could complicate his recovery?

“I know he had MCL too. But I don’t have all the information, I haven’t studied everything yet. I just finished with the players, but I was told by ACL that there is an MCL there too.” “

You had a long conversation with QB Brock Purdy in the locker room after the game. Was there anything you particularly focused on while talking to him?

“No, we were just talking, as always. I just didn’t realize that all of you guys were standing behind me spying on us (laughter). But it was easy, I love talking to the guys after the game. I just happened to be walking back and he was standing right there, so we stopped and started talking. I didn’t notice, it really hooked me, I forgot it was still there. We were just hanging out, talking about the game and stuff like that. . And then when I looked back, you guys kind of scared me, I didn’t realize everyone was crawling that much, but that’s what we all do, we talk.

Looking back at the movie, is there anything that Brock doesn’t see or that he sees that isn’t there when you watch the movie?

“Yes, in every game. It’s always there, and it’s the same with another quarterback on the other side. I know Brock would love to have those three picks back. but he has to sit there and take the ball so we can kick the field goal and make it a six-point game.”

Are there any coaching points that you particularly focus on with him? Or is it all about seeing things as they are on the field and not as he might imagine?

“Yes, we have coach points in every game, so I can’t give you a general description of coach points. But every game is different. Brock had a hell of a year, he was gone. Yesterday he didn’t play his best game. And we just, so I’m a little late. Just finished watching all of these 70 something, 80 games and got something on all of them and more. Brock, but for everyone.”

When did Deebo go to the hospital? Was it something he wasn’t aware of during the game, or did he come here last night, this morning?

“He came last night. I think it started showing up in the middle of the night Saturday night or early Sunday morning. and everything after the game, then I think they sent him there, I’m not sure about the timing of it, but I just found out where he was on Sunday night when I was at home.”

Did you have a chance to meet Brandon and what was his initial reaction to the news of the injury?

“I talked to him last night, just called him at home. I haven’t seen him today. But he was in pain, he was just upset. Exactly as you would expect. believes that everything happens for a reason, so he will be okay. But last night I was definitely a little upset and I just told him how sorry I was for him and just let him know that we’re all here for him.”

I’m sure you probably wanted to make it a little easier on WR Ricky Pearsall than you could. But when you went back and watched the film, what did you see from it and what do you expect from it in the future?

“I was proud of Ricky just for the fact that he had to be prepared for some situations that we hoped he didn’t have to be prepared for. Not only him, but also (WR Jacob) Jake Cowing and (WR) Ronnie Bell. Conley was in that role and we used him on a number of occasions when guys were out or just playing in a couple of games. But we had to mix a lot of things up in the second quarter and at halftime, or mostly at halftime. and these guys were there where they didn’t have reps and for the most part they didn’t make too many mistakes and gave us a chance to get back in the game and gave us a chance to win. Based on that, these guys will get a lot more reps in the future with BA out of the game, with (WR) Jauan (Jennings) and Deebo, not sure if we’ll get them back this week or not. And so it was. a good start for these guys and there’s a lot more to come.”

What did you like about what you saw from Coving that he did?

“I love the way he ran around the screen we caught him. This was the first draw in which we missed BA. So it was nice to give him screen time in the first game. I thought he ran it pretty aggressively and I think he got it for nine yards. He was ready for the hit we gave him later in the game, but he stepped in and did a good job when he got the opportunity.”

How are things going with RB Christian McCaffrey and K Jake Moody, and could either LB Dre Greenlaw potentially return to practice soon?

“Christian is still undergoing rehabilitation. He hasn’t had any setbacks, so it’s all good news for now. I’d be surprised if he came back this week. But I hope that the bye week will go well and be much better.” chance there right after a week of dating. Greenlaw is still a few weeks away. Everything is still going well, but now Jake Moody is out with a bad ankle sprain. We know we won’t get it back until it’s finished. Last night you talked about watching the film closely today. What was it like discussing this with the team and how do you think they responded?

“I try to tell as much about the team as possible, I don’t go into detail with the team because there are so many clips to watch. I try to just tell them what happened throughout the game, the perspective of all three stages. And then we break into our rooms and talk about positions in detail. It’s always hard for me to come and watch after such a defeat, although I thought the guys handled it well. To show all the moments that, as bad as it was, how many times we had a chance to win, I’m not trying to take anything away from Kansas City, but how much we hurt ourselves in this game and how much that happened. Despite the injuries, despite everything we can dictate, we did it from time to time, but it wasn’t good enough and we made too many mistakes. And with losses, and with some moments. red zone, and there are a number of things we can do much better that can lead to victory. If you don’t fix this, it won’t matter who you play with. “Well, it forces you to study everything. We try to learn everything, no matter what. Obviously, given the more issues that came up yesterday, you still want to look into everything, but it comes down to what options are there with things that we can implement this, it won’t hurt us at all, it will help us now and won’t hurt us in the future. This requires many decisions to be made. So we’ll cover everything, but in many cases it’s simple. a kind of life in hope. These answers are not always available. You have to be willing to improve the situation for the people in your building and deal with what’s in your building.
