The San Francisco 49ers feared the worst with Brandon Aiyuk’s knee injury, and Monday’s test results didn’t provide any pleasant surprises. If anything, the news was worse than expected.

Speaking after a dismal 28-18 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Kyle Shanahan told reporters that Aiyuk was rumored to have suffered a torn ACL late in the second quarter.

And a report from Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz on Monday revealed that Aiyuk did suffer an ACL injury that will end his 2024 season early.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport then reported that Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and ACL and that he could have additional damage to his knee, leaving the 2020 first-round pick with a long and potentially more difficult road to recovery.
