Live review: Steel Panther goes crazy in Adelaide!

For their second Australian show, the insatiable STEEL PANTHER invited the Adelaide crowd to join them. On the hunt for a brilliant performance.

Bold and brash, raunchy and bombastic, there’s no band quite like STEEL PANTHER. A band in every sense of the word, their global (and equal) reputation as musicians and debauchees is unparalleled. Celebrating the 15th anniversary of their debut this year, Feel the steeland immediately after performing in the US and Europe in 2023/2024, “the most famous, fun and completely outrageous glam metal band on the planet” brought On the hunt World tour below.

Hailing from the epicenter of American fame and filth, Los Angeles, since its inception under other names, STEEL PANTHERthe infamy continued to grow. Having achieved universal acclaim and fame for their parody of the lifestyle that was synonymous with the 1980s, the Hollywood Heretics achieved more than many of the genre’s arguably more serious musicians did in a lifetime spanning the former era and the present. To celebrate the release of their sixth studio album, the band promised a performance of incomparable quality.

Joining the ever-perennial heavy metal band across Australia’s five-city area, JOHN 5 make a very fitting presence. A revered and renowned artist in his own right, his credits include stints with MARILYN MANSON and ROB ZOMBIE, countless cameo appearances with artists of all genres, and a current management position with MOTLEY CRUE. Born JOHN LOWRY and given his biblical nickname by MANSON, he enters, the stoic silhouette of Gene Wilder. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Darling.

Pure imagination JOHN 5’s boisterous, painted appearance and phenomenal skill enhance the glamor of his gothic performance. The ghost with an ax next to his drummer accomplice, without saying a word, Ke Pasa asks “what’s going on” and receives a non-verbal hypnotizing response. One outstretched arm, and a neon disco bursts from the blackened lips of the virtuoso, rushing towards a unique psycho-circus Crank it up. When exchanging weapons, he does not need to re-introduce himself, but does so with his eponymous name. I’m John 5.

Flamenco turns into a furious cover of a QUEEN song. Crazy little thing called love. Recalling his last visit to our southern shores with MOTLEY CRUE almost exactly a year ago, the lead singer’s medley merges with Home Sweet Home. Walking around Wild sidethe once motionless but adoring crowd finds its movement. In response, there is a loud cry from the audience. Threatening Start my heartthe classic delivers a surprise ending that brings the legendary set to a close without fanfare.

The best of a bygone era, serving as the interstitial soundtrack: red light illuminates the powerful, sleek animal; namesake of our headliner. Under the spotlight, melodic vocals ask, “Are you ready for the best night of your life, for everything to change, for your insides to be rearranged?” With a rude gesture, causing the delight of the audience, the group’s premium leather accessory itself – SATCHEL; Captivating the crowd with wild sex appeal, MICHAEL STARR’s familiar vocal chorus sings the final opening song: Panther’s eyes.

Begging’let me cum tonight in your house,” every man and woman (we hope there are no children, but SATCHEL tells us otherwise, commanding them to “Grow the hell up!”) come to life for STEEL PANTHERall its power, revealed in the track with the provocative name – Asian prostitute. The front-of-house trio, complete with new member SPYDER, lead the chorus in encouraging blowjobs and boasting about the “enormous amount of drugs we brought into your country.” Men who are not afraid to talk about their money have reason to believe that this is said in jest, but you can never be sure.

Pausing to talk, the foundation of any strong relationship, brotherly love extends to the heartbeat of the band, drummer STIX ZADINIA. The participant, who is usually given the privacy of his instrument, appears to be shyly embarrassed for a moment before he happily joins in the playing. “I get more pussy just by weight,” foreshadows SATCHEL fat chick and chants of “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, show us your tits!” reveals several Friends with Benefits for boys. STIX raps as the threesome spin around in a circle, the orgy on stage announcing an intermission to an electrifying guitar solo from SATCHEL.

We start the second half with the two title tracks from the first and last album. Death to everything except metal gets an Adelaide makeover bye 1987 suggests that, despite all the jokes, the best music may be ahead (though they do joke about grabbing us from behind). The band’s “favorite year of all time” for a variety of depraved reasons. A special place in the hearts and minds is given to Girl from Oklahoma from years past, and recently met female audience member Jamie, escorted onto the stage for this privilege after a personalized, very intimate serenade.

Opening the stage to everyone now, 17 girls in a row sees how a harem gathers on command. Wild scenes follow before STARR extends a heartfelt thank you to the beautiful women of Adelaide; acoustic performance of a ballad Public property serves as the penultimate track of the main set. The last roll of hay STEEL PANTHER announce your mission one last time. They came to Party all day (fuck all night) and to keep our stamina high they give us one “special ride” and one last look at Glory hole.

Adrenaline and libido are pumping through the room, the end of today’s trip seems unfairly premature. With Adelaide audiences hungry for more but satisfied beyond imagination filtering in and under the “stars in the sky”, STARR’s words ring true. Everyone can confirm this evening: STEEL PANTHER“My heart belongs to you.”
