A MUM breaks her silence to reveal shocking new details about troubled football star Ezra Mama’s car crash scandal.

  • The star is being investigated by police and the NRL.

A mother who was in the Uber that collided with Brisbane Broncos star Ezra Mama’s car has broken her silence and revealed her daughter suffered a fractured hip in the crash.

The mum’s Ford Ranger and the Toyota carrying the woman and her four-year-old daughter collided in the north Brisbane suburb of Bardon last Friday.

The 21-year-old was reportedly moving house when the incident occurred.

The woman has now revealed that she and her daughter were hospitalized after the “traumatic” incident.

“She (her daughter) has a fractured hip… she has very serious burns from the friction of the seat belt,” the woman told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Queensland Police carried out roadside testing at the scene, with Mam allegedly failing a drug test but testing negative for alcohol.

Police and the NRL Integrity Unit are now investigating the incident and are awaiting the results of a secondary drugs test, which could take several weeks.

“I remember looking up and immediately seeing this car turn right in front of us. I knew what would happen next,” the woman said.

“I also remember saying, ‘I need to get out, I can’t breathe.’ The Uber driver jumped out of the car… to let us out… the door was jammed and wouldn’t open.”

The woman was unimpressed by the media attention the Broncos star was receiving, saying there was “no mention of my Uber driver or us.”

She said Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy contacted her but her mum never called.

Mam’s management released a statement Monday saying the star needed “immediate professional treatment” at a rehab center.

“Ezra is extremely remorseful,” the statement said.

“He is concerned primarily for the other parties involved and understands the enormity of the current situation.

“He acknowledges that he has faced some personal challenges and has taken the proactive step of seeking immediate professional help following these recent events.

“We will continue to support him throughout this process and will not be making any further comment at this time.”

Lawyer Tom Taylor, considered one of Canberra’s most successful criminal defense lawyers, warned that in the worst case scenario Mum could face jail time.

“The exact nature of the charges will really depend on the evidence collected as part of this investigation,” he told Nine’s Today show on Monday.

“There is little public information about this at this stage, but there is still work to be done.

“The types of charges and the consequences that flow from those charges will really depend on the evidence collected.”

Police say Mam was also driving without a license at the time of the accident.

However, Taylor says that might be the least of her mom’s worries.

“The two more serious charges actually involve the drug (allegedly) in his system — if a blood sample taken at the hospital confirms the presence of the drug in his system,” Taylor said.

“If there were injuries sustained by (passengers in the other car), then the driving and (alleged) drug driving charges are what he should be most concerned about.

“Potentially, if injuries are sustained, the penalty could be up to 14 years in prison.”
