A drunk driver abandoned a child in a city center after he crashed into bushes over a disagreement with his ex-partner.

Kieran Bennion, 32, had been drinking heavily in the early hours of August 16 when an argument broke out at an address in Smallwood, Cheshire.

After smashing his ex-partner’s phone, he drove off in a red Vauxhall Corsa and took his 12-year-old child with him, Cheshire Police said.

He drove dangerously towards Crewe, narrowly avoiding several vehicles before crashing into bushes in Clay Lane, Haslington.
