Derrick Henry is close to breaking Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record.

Ravens running back Derrick Henry had another big game Monday night, rushing 15 times for 169 yards and he’s on track for a single-season total that no running back in NFL history has achieved.

Through seven games, Henry has 873 yards. That would put him on track for 2,120 yards rushing in 17 games, a new single-season record for rushing yards. The current record of 2,105 yards was set by Eric Dickerson in 1984 over a 16-game season.

Henry could also become the first player in NFL history to have two 2,000-yard seasons. Henry rushed for 2,027 yards for the Titans in 2020.

Henry will be 31 this season, and at times last year he looked like he’d lost a step. But he’s playing as well as ever now, and the Ravens couldn’t be happier with their high-profile free agent signing.
