99 Bikes opens in Hobart

A national player in the local cycling market has opened its doors in Hobart, providing a variety of options for people who ride or want to ride.

The bright red 99 Bikes store will open on October 25 at 125 Murray Street.

There will be approximately 200 bikes in stock and more in storage, making it one of the largest bike stores in the state, and it will be open seven days a week.

Store Manager Adrian Brooks traveled from Perth to get the store up and running and enjoy all that Tassie has to offer.

He says the company has a 10-year lease on the site and plans to stay in the state for the long term.

Mechanics will be on the floor most days to perform booked services and minor repairs.

The company is a large national retailer with a warehouse in Melbourne that holds up to three months’ worth of stock, meaning the wait for parts is typically less than a week.

99 Bikes is an Australian distributor of German Cube bikes, covering mountain, road, commuter and e-bikes, including e-cargo bikes. It also features brands sold in Tasmania including Merida, BMC and Norco.

However, 99 Bikes is the only Pedal bike retailer that offers entry-level models for all bike styles.

Brooks hopes to offer community outreach services offered by the 99 popular interstate bike shops, including “come and try” days for e-bikes.
