Born in a kiwi garden in Riwaka, Flex Webster lives and breathes music. A DJ, producer and record collector with a 25-year career, his music has taken him all over the world. Flex attended the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle (2005) and has won numerous DJ competitions over the years. Having quite a wide musical range at the moment, his current obsession is the worldly sound of funk and boogie.⁠

During his recent stay in London, Flex performed regularly at Old Street Records and The Blues Kitchen, among others. He has hosted a radio show on Music Box Radio UK and has made guest appearances on other stations including THREADS. In 2023, Flex teamed up with Australian label That’s Not An Edit to curate the first New Zealand edition of their compilation series. His exquisite version of Letta Mbulu’s “Nomalizo” is now written for issue 7 45. Flex is also one half of Shared Soul along with his rhyming partner Julia Jewels.⁠
